Papa Wally comes to town

•07/26/2009 • 3 Comments

I (Tom Wallisch) recently celebrated my 22nd birthday at Da Hood House here in beautiful Mt. Hood, Oregon.  In honor of the occasion, Papa Wally flew out to hang out for a few days.  Papa Wally or P.Wall as he soon became known, arrived in Oregon after a long flight from Pennsylvania on the 22nd of July.  Da Hood House residents were treated to an abundance of home cooked ham and chicken dinners… a far cry from the typical diet of Subway and Diary Queen.  Papa Wally also supplied the house with countless household amenities including but not limited to; Paper towels, solo cups, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish soap, pretzels, and bottled water.  P Dubs got to participate in the end of camp activities over at Windells Ski and Snowboard camp and also was able to make it up to timberline to shred for a few days.

Da Hood House greatly appreciates all that Papa Wally has provided us, and we really hope he returns for another visit next summer!  Maybe next summer Mama Wally will make a visit as well, and cook the exclusive and undeniably greatest waffles ever……… WALLY WORLD WAFFLES!!

4bi9 Week Part 1

•07/13/2009 • Comments Off

This past week, Windells was proud to host the 4bi9 crew during session 4  for the first ever “4bi9 Week”. The list of visitors included AJ Dakoulas, Rich Fahey, Dale Talkington, Dave Euler, John Kutcher, Ryan Wyble, Brady Perron, Jeff Kiesel, Erica Durtschi, Chris Vogt, and A-Hall.  Trevor Woods and Paul Braunstein were the 4biPhotographers. There were a few spots in the hood house, but the majority of our guests camped in the woods. The crew skied Windells and seshed the big step over and many other features at Windells. The weather was a solid mix of good and bad, but AJ and the photogs ended up with some sick stuff. Here’s some pics of the crew chillin at the house….. look out for 4bi9 Week Part 2 for all the ski action.

Fresh ta death

Wallisch here…

It’s been quite a while since we’ve made any updates for the website.  We’ve recently been having some internet troubles as well as a few injuries to the crew.  All of which have been preventing us from updating the site regularly.  Luckily everything is back up and running, so keep on checking back for daily updates and some video.

In other news  a few of the hood house residents have recently recieved a wardrobe upgrade courtesy of Jiberish clothing.  Mike Hornbeck, Tom Wallisch, Adam Delorme, Matt Walker, and Henrik “Edollo” Harlaut are all now sporting fresh Jiberish special edition tall tees!  These limited edition team only tees are sure to be the hottest thing out this summer.  The tees are only available to Jiberish family members, so if you see someone rocking one you can be sure they’re a Jiberish rider… no matter how much cotton they have covering their face.  Check the pics below of the new tees… and get stoked for the new clothing line dropping this fall!!

We’ve had a few injuries recently as well.  Da hood house resident Tyler Barnes recently broke his hand while filming for the upcoming 4bi9 movie “So Far So Hood.”  Liam Downey was also taken down today by an ankle injury that occurred in BOB.  Accurate diagnosis of the injury is still unknown, but speculation of a fractured ankle is the most common.  We wish both the them a speedy recovering!!

Welp that’s it for now… Keep checking back for updates on the recent 4bi9 shoot at windells, and other interesting happenings from da hood house!

Things have come to light, man. Apparently, a rival website has been launched in an attempt to discredit our venerable abode/blog/self-glorification tool. Let it be known that however “hyphy” or “doo-doo-dumb” all the cool cats at “da condo” may be getting, they still feel the need to stop by “da” living room of our spot as many as four times a day to enjoy our high-raftered-celings and forest-green shag carpet. Such luxuries are seldom found in condos, which tend to resemble jail cells or housing tenements. While living the ghetto life in the Govy projects may be their goal, these kids have never fought over anything but X-Box controllers, underage mogul chicks, and the keys to Warnick’s Mom’s Forester. Maybe this plug will help your petty blog get some real views for once, quit blocking our driveway with your lesbian whip.

A trip to the river…

•07/06/2009 • 1 Comment

Session 3 is over, and the remaining campers are a tired and ragged bunch, the last vestiges of the rabid throng that swarmed last night’s gear giveaway. It’s midday now, and a few rugrats lucky enough to stay for the in between are passing the afternoon by throwing pieces of the foam pit at each other. As the last airport shuttle rolls past the skate fun track and out the gates of “the funnest place on earth”, a strange silence enshrouds Windell’s campus. As unsettling as the empty halls of a school, this absence of noise means one thing: we, the faculty, are free!
But where does a group of likeminded educators go when their pupils leave the nest? To the beach, naturally! With the ocean more than two hours away, we put the Pacific Coast on hold and head down the road to Brightwood Beach. To say it’s a beach is to glorify a sandy riverbank, and calling it sandy would be lending undue credit to a gravel patch. Either way, it is a perfect spot for those of age to consume adult beverages by the riverside, or for a Swedish hobbit to dine on Goetze caramels and two liter bottles of Mountain Dew. While the rest of us burn our pasty skin to a crisp, the Native Americans of da Hood House (K-Day and A.D.) scale a rocky bank a la Daniel Day Lewis in Last of the Mohicans, jumping into the cold current. In spite of K-Day’s native blood, the sun seems to have gotten the best of his Irish skin as he now boasts a permanent wife beater burn. As the festivities at the beach dry up, we ghost back to the spot, shredding a gauntlet of biker cops on the way.

Henrik cuts his hair… by himself

•07/06/2009 • 2 Comments

I woke up yesterday morning and came to find Henrik on the porch by himself hacking away at his hair with a pair of scissors from the kitchen. As I watched chunk by chunk fall away it slowly turned into a mullet…. I came back 15 minutes later and he had done an alright job of making it into a normal haircut (minus the several missing patches). Check it out

Windells gets an Airbag

•07/04/2009 • 3 Comments

One of the most recent additions to the Windells Terrian park is a giant air bag for practicing new tricks.  The bag is extremely useful for attempting new double flips and other insane maneuvers before trying such tricks on snow.  All the coaches and campers have found the air bag to be super helpful and extremely fun.

Everyone has  been throwing down crazy stuff.  Crazy new double corks, even some triple corks.  Check out the video below for some previews of all the new stuff. Highlight of the video is goblin almost stomping a sick new triple cork.

All Summer Long

•07/02/2009 • 1 Comment

It was 2009, my thoughts were short my hair was long, caught somewhere between a boy and man. She was seventeen and she was far from in-between, It was summertime in Northern Oregon…
-As Kid Rock once sang to the tune of a Warren Zevon AND Lynyrd Skynyd song(s). Oh and how true that rings. This is an homage to my time spent at Da Hood House two weeks ago (you know, back when The King of Pop was still kickin), where the who’s who of summer skiing have gathered under the Oregon forest at the base of some volcano the likes of which may never be witnessed again. But alas, everything has a finite purpose, and as Nelly Furtado once said “All good things must come to an end”.

Have a good summer folks!  -Freedle Coty

Highlights include hand-drag double corks, big spins, and banged landings. With arial cinematography and daring stunts, last night proved to be one of the most impressive  park shoots of the year!

Neighborhood Drama

•06/26/2009 • 5 Comments

As you have seen in our previous post, “Hood House Contaminated by Neighboring Meth Lab”, we have had some serious issues with a specific neighbor regarding parking on our road. After a couple of awkward and heated encounters, watch below as “said neighbor” parks a massive semi-truck in the road, refusing to move it for fifteen minutes as the Level 1 crew is delayed en route to their sunset shoot. Post-incident, liam reenacts the events of the morning in the second half of this rather confusing video.

Gypsy Trinkets

•06/26/2009 • Comments Off

After stumbling upon a group of campers getting gypsy things put in their hair , myself and Walker stepped into dangerous territory by asking for trinkets of our own. We went through a few hours of mixed feelings about our first steps into gypgsyland, but overall the feedback was good. Rumor has it, Martini will be getting some flare tomorrow. Liam doesn’t seem too stoked for some reason. In a recent interview, Liam is quoted “what inspired you, you want to blend with the enemy?”. Mannn you hatermattt

Anna’s mom, Mrs. Beezy, was passing through from Bend on her way to the Oregon coast and decided to make a pit stop to one of the most dangerous parts of Oregon; Da Hood House. Upon her arrival, she was kind enough to bring over 2 giant dishes of enchiladas. Needless to say, we ate the f— out of them. Thanks Mrs. Beezy!!
